Presentation of Marflet Marine

Marflet Marine (website) was established in 1957; until 1990, the company managed up to 9 VLCC vessels under Spanish flag on long term TCs with CEPSA and REPSOL (Ceuta - 1968, Málaga - 1969, Melilla - 1971, Barcelona - 1972, Tarragona - 1974, Gibraltar - 1975, and Aragón - 1976). Marflet moved more than 20% of crude oil transported annually to Spain from the 1970s to the 1990s. The company had a high exposure to the 1992 oil market crisis. The board decided then to change from crude oil tankers to clean petroleum product and chemical tankers. During last 25 years the company has been working with first class partners, such as Exxon, Shell, BP, Blystad, Eitzen-Team Tankers, Laurin, Navig8, Koch, Stena and FLOPEC.
Marflet's fleet is composed of Mattheos I (2004), Markos I (2005), Loukas I (2006), Ioannis I (2006), Panagia Thalassini (2015), and Santiago I, all built by the Uljanik shipyard at Pula (Croatia).

House flag of Marflet Marine

The company's original house flag was horizontally divided green-yellow-green (1:2:1) with the company's emblem, composed of a white seabird superimposed to the black letters "FM", italicized and inscribed in a black triangle with rounded angles. "FM" refers to the company's original name, Fletamentos Maritimos S.A. The company's modern emblem features a re-designed bird, while the letters and triangle have been dropped.
