The flag is described as follows:

The coat of arms does not appeat to have been officially registered, although it was validated by the Royal Academy of History (Boletín de la Real Academia de la Historia 180:3, 604. 1983), as:

Coat of arms: Per pale, 1. Or a vase sable, 2. Azure a Mozarab cross argent. Grafted in base, vert a garb of spikes or. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.

The coat of arms, designed by the historian, geographer, archeologist and writer Fernando Jiménez de Gregorio (1911-2012), was adopted on 27 August 1980 by the Municipal Council.
The first quarter represents pottery, a traditional industry in the town, today disappeared. The second quarter reflects the Mozarab influence of the town. The base quarter refers to grain cultivation as the axis of local economy.
