The municipality of Campanet (2,512 inhabitants in 2017, 3,500 ha) is located 50 km north-east of Palma de Mallorca. The municipality is made of the settlements of Campanet and Ullaró (22 inh.).

In November 2007, the three political groups forming the Municipal Council of Campanet initiated a study for the design of a municipal flag and a unique municipal coat of arms. Different versions of the coat of arms are currently in use, without any historical background.
