The municipality of Ourol (1,216 inhabitants in 2009; 144 sq. km) is located in the Province of Vigo [Ed. Lugo].
"La Voz de Galicia" reports that the Municipal Council of Ourol unanimuously decided on 27 January 2010 to amend the municipal coat of arms and to adopt a municipal flag.
The current municipal coat of arms, "Quarterly gules and counter-vair, 15 pieces" is deemed "of austere design and loud colours."
