Description

Horizontally striped red over yellow, the third of the length nearest the hoist white over blue horizontally divided by a wavy line with two wave crests. On the canton a black castle as high as 1/3 of the flag's height. Ratio 2:3.

Colours from the coat-of-arms. The hoist stripe represents the castle of Begur standing on the sea, the fly the royal arms of Aragon, remembering the former royal jurisdiction. Flag adopted 6th September 1995. Source for image and text: Fluvià 2001. The image in this source shows the castle as grey, rather than black as in the official description.
