The municipality of Fernán-Núñez (9,670 inhabitants; 2,980 ha) is located in the Province of of Córdoba.

Symbols of Fernán-Núñez

Flag (?):

The Municipality of Fernan Nunez in the Province of Cordoba, Andalusia, officially has no flag. However, in Wikipedia there is an image uploaded by Lagallinadehumo who claims that there is a flag for the municipality and gave a description of it as:
"Dimensions 1 x 1.618. Divided into three vertical stripes, from left to right: the first stripe, gules (red), the second and third being white. The first stripe, in vermilion red ("Fernán Núñez Red"), represents the illustrious past of the town, the color of its most emblematic building: the Ducal Palace. The second and third stripes, in pure white, represent the present and future of the municipality: the town. The local coat of arms unites both stripes: past and future, aristocracy and common people."

It is for the time being not proved that it exists, until we find evidence in some future research.

The coat of arms was adopted by the Ayuntamiento on 14.05.1971.

Description: Gold shield, a two-towered castle, charged with a gold [ triangular ] escutcheon and azure waves. The crest is an open royal crown. It also includes a white border with the inscription "Arms of the town of Fernan-Núñez"
Meaning: The town grew up around the Abencales fortress. The gold and blue wavy coat of arms represents the Ríos family, which was the county house (1639) and later the ducal house (1817) of Fernán Núñez. Juan Bernier Luque is the designer of this coat of arms.
