The flag and rehabilitated arms of Villa del Rey, adopted on 12 February and 12 July 1993 by the Municipal Council and validated on 22 September 1993 by the Assessing Council of Honors and Distinctions of the Government of Extremadura, are prescribed by an Order issued on 15 October 1993 by the Government of Extremadura and published on 28 October 1993 in the official gazette of Extremadura, No. 125, pp. 2,886-2,887 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:
Flag: Square, white with a green Scandinavian cross skewed to the top and the municipal coat of arms in full colors.
Coat of arms: Per pale, 1. Or a cross flory vert, 2. Argent a lion rampant purpure. Grafted in base, Azure three fleurs-de-lis or. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.
