The municipality of Brazacorta (55 inhabitants in 2018 vs. 112 in 1996; 2,108 ha; municipal website) is located 100 km south-east of Burgos.
Brazacorta was the site of the St. Mary Norbertine monastery. In 24 April 1287, King Sancho IV of Castile granted the monastery the right to pick a ship from each flock that crossed the village during transhumance.

The flag and arms of Brazacorta are prescribed by an Agreement adopted on 2 April 2019 by the Municipal Council, signed on 19 October 2019 by the Mayor, and published on 3 December 2019 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 233, p. 56,978 (photo).
The symbols are described as follows:
Flag: Rectangular panel in length one and a half time the width. Purple with two yellow staffs crossed in saltire, superimposed in the center with a tree with a brown trunk and green leaves.
Coat of arms: Azure two staffs or in saltire surrounded by four fleurs-de-lis of the same superimposed a tree eradicated proper. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.
