The municipality of Aljucén (264 inhabitants in 2019; 1,910 h) is located on the border with the province of Cáceres, 80 km north-east of Badajoz and 20 km north of Mérida.

The flag (photo) and arms of Aljucén, adopted on 5 July 1997 by the Municipal Council and validated on 17 February 1998 by the Assessing Council of Honors and Distinctions of the Government of Extremadura, are prescribed by an Order issued on 2 March 1998 by the Government of Extremadura and published on 16 April 1998 in the official gazette of Extremadura, No. 42, pp. 2,805-2,806 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:
Flag: Rectangular, in proportions 2:3. A white bend (in width 1/5 of the flag's width) running from the hoist's upper angle to the fly's lower angle, the lower triangle along the hoist red and the upper triangle along the fly blue. Charged in the center with the municipal coat of arms in full colors.
Coat of arms: A bend argent charged with a Cross of Saint James in chief dexter and a Cross of Saint Andrew in base sinister surronded dexter azure a two-arched bridge or over waves azure and argent surmounted by a tower or masoned sable and sinister gules a castle or porta and windows azure masoned sable. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.
