Symbols of Collado del Mirón

The flag and arms of Collado del Mirón are prescribed by a Decree adopted on 16 December 2009 by the Municipal Council, signed on 25 November 2010 by the Mayor, and published on 21 December 2010 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 244, p. 97,146 (text).
The flag is described as follows:

Flag: Flag with proportions 2:3, tierced at hoist and horizontally serrated at fly. At hoist checky blue (or azure) and white (or argent). At fly, horizontally serrated, first red (or gules) with two complete triangles and two half triangles, second, green (or vert). The two fields charged in the middle with a yellow (or or) fructed oak.
Coat of arms: Shield in Spanish shape. Gules an oak or fructed of the same ensigned with a Ducal coronet in full colors cantonned dexter and sinister with rocks argent, a bordure checky azure and argent (of the Toledo lineage). The shield surmounted with a Royal Spanish crown.

The symbols, designed by Félix Martínez and Institución Gran Duque de Alba - an outfit of the Provincial Government -, were inaugurated on 8 December 2010 during the village's festival.
On the coat of arms, the oak represents the tree commonly found in the past in the village. The two rocks represent a small pass in the mountain range, that is a collado. The Toledo arms recall that the Dukes of Alba ruled the village for five centuries.
(Diario de Ávila, 9 December 2010).
