Klaus-Michael Schneider, 9 November 2012The flag of Fines, adopted on 26 February 2003 by the Municipal Council and validated on 24 July 2003 by the Royal Academy of Cordóba, is prescribed by Decree No. 285, adopted on 7 October 2003 by the Government of Andalusia and published on 24 October 2003 in the official gazette of Andalusia, No. 205, pp. 22,232-22,233 (text). This was confirmed by a Decree adopted on 30 November 2004 by the Government of Andalusia and published on 20 December 2004 in the official gazette of Andalusia, No. 246, pp. 28,986-29,002 (text).
The flag is described as follows:
Flag: Rectangular, in proportions 1:1.5, diagonally divided in chief. The upper half white and the lower half divided into three parts, blue, yellow and blue, the lower blue part twice higher than the other parts. In canton is placed the municipal coat of arms, in adequate dimensions and with the or and argent tinctures replaced by the yellow and white colours, respectively.
The coat of arms of Fines is prescribed by Royal Decree No. 3,295, adopted on 13 November 1981 and published on 12 January 1982 in the Spanish official gazette, No. 10, p. 683 (text). This was confirmed by a Decree adopted on 30 November 2004 by the Government of Andalusia and published on 20 December 2004 in the official gazette of Andalusia, No. 246, pp. 28,986-29,002 (text).
The coat of arms, validated by the Royal Academy of History, is described as follows:
Coat of arms: Lozengy argent and azure. A bordure azure charged with three maize cobs or. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.
White and blue are the colours of the marble extracted from the local quarries. Maize is the main crop in the area.

The file submitted by the municipality of Fines for the adoption of the coat of arms was declared null and void by a Resolution adopted on 21 July 1997 by the Directorate General of the Local Administration and published on 12 August 1997 in the official gazette of Andalusia, No. 93, p. 9,631 (text).
