The municipality's flag is a rectangular blue cloth featuring a golden ring cross—the emblem of Vormsi Municipality—in the center. The ratio of width to length is 7:11, and the standard size is 105 x 165 cm. The height of the ring cross is half the height of the flag. The flag's color codes are: blue C100 M40 Y0 K10 and gold/yellow C0 M10 Y100 K0.
The flag's (and CoA) colors refer to the island's historic Coastal Swedish heritage. The ring cross set against a blue background symbolizes a sunny island with pristine nature situated in the middle of the sea. Furthermore, Vormsi is home to the world's largest collection of ring crosses, and the ring cross serves as both a solar symbol and a protective emblem for the island.
