The symbols of Nangaritza are prescribed by an Order adopted on 15 October
1990.
Article 1.
Description of the colors of the flag of Nangaritza:
Yellow, red and green, arranged as follows. Two horizontal stripes: yellow in
the upper part, green in the lower part, a red star in the center.
Article 2.
Yellow represents the gold resources of the canton.
Green
represents the exuberant vegetation of the area.
Red represents the blood
shed by the Ecuadorian patriots for the defense of the integrity of the national
territory against the usurping assault by the Peruvians in the absence of
jurisdictional demarcation.
