The flag of Taisha is horizontally divided into three green, blue and yellow stripes with respective proportions 2:1:1. Green stands for the "llanura", blue for the sky and the rivers of the canton and yellow for the richness of the soil.
The canton was formed on 28 June 1996.

Llanura is Spanish for "plain" (substantive - the geographical feature as well as "platitude", both metaphoric and not).
