The parish of La Unión (6,712 inhabitants; 25,600 ha), established on 7 December 1883, is located in east center of Santa Ana canton.

The Flag

The flag of La Unión, designed by Ítalo Pico, is horizontally divided white-green with a red triangle placed along the hoist. White is a symbol of purity. Green represents the mountains surrounding the village. Red is a symbol of struggle and work.
