The flag and arms of Sozoranga were designed in 1967 by José María Espinosa
Gonzáles, winner of a public contest open to all school teachers of the then
parish of Sozoranga. The symbols were validated on 10 June 1972 by the
municipality of Macará.
The flag is composed of three horizontal stripes
of the same dimensions, green, yellow, and green.
Green represents the
fields, while yellow represents the village's resources.
