About the Ministry

The Ministerio de Turismo (MITUR, Ministry of Tourism) is one of the cabinet-level ministries in the Dominican Republic. Considering the Ministry's name, I think its purpose is rather self-explanatory - overseeing the tourism policies, marketing, and services for the Dominican Republic.
