This is the former flag of Det Danske Luftfartselskabt, one of the predecessors of SAS (Scandinavian Airlines System). In
use 1930s - 1940s.

The emblem seems similar to that of Det Norske. Is this coincidence, or was there a shared history as well as a shared future?
Peter Hans van den Muijzenberg, 7 Mar 2015
It depends on how we define coincidence. Many airlines of that era, particularly European ones, used as their logos variants of a flying bird, often
inside a circle.

Improved/corrected flag image created.

On 26 July 1947 the Ministry of State approved a defaced (rectangular) Dannebrog flag (Danish: stutflag med mærke) with a badge in canton. The badge showed a a white seagull exceeding a white circle by his wings. Badge reconstruction is based on former image of Miles Li.
