Shield parted per pale of Gules and Argent a griffin-lion rampant in counterchanged tinctures.
Meaning:
The griffin-lion, a lion with a griffin's head, is said to display the oldest apocryphal arms of the Welfen kin. He can also be found on the arms of the Benedictine St. Mang Monastery in Füssen, which had the local low level cognisance. The basic tinctures are referring to the Bishopric of Augsburg, local ruler until 1803.
