Coswig/Anhalt (not to be confused with Coswig in Saxony near Dresden) has slightly less than 10,000 inhabitants.

It is a red-blue vertical bicolour with centred arms. In banner the colours are swapped — probably erroneously.

The colours were red and blue, granted in 1896 by Duke Friedrich I of Anhalt.

Shield Azure semy of 12 stars Or; in centre a woman statant Argent crowned Or, holding a helmet in her right hand and an inescutcheon in her left hand; the inescutcheon is parted per pale; at dexter Argent a demi-eagle, Gules armed Or and couped per pale; at sinister barry of ten of Sable and Or, charged with an embowed crancelin Vert.
Meaning:
According to "Historie des Fürstentums Anhalt" (Wittenberg, 1710), the woman should be Princess Cordula vof Anhalt, who resided in the city in 1475. The composition, however, already appeared on the oldest city seal from 1325. The inescutcheon disolays the modified arms of Brandenburg (demi-eagle) and Saxony (bars and crancelin), the original arms of the Princes of Anhalt. The helmet is described as a symbol for protection. The stars are probably a mere decoration.
