Description of coat of arms:
The golden shield is divided by two red, fessy, indented lines. The whole is superimposed by a rampant, black beaver armed silver (=white) and tongued red.
Meaning:
According to source the indented lines had been taken from the arms of the kin of "von Bevern", who owned the castle of Bevern since the 12th century in service of the bishops of Münster. The beaver (Niederdeutsch: bever) is canting.
