City of Kamen (Unna county / Northrhine-Westphalia)
Description of flag:
The flags ratio is 3:5. It is a blue over white horizontal bicolour with the coat of arms in its centre.
Description of coat of arms:
The golden(=yellow) shield is superimposed by the Markian chequered bar (German: Märkischer Schachbalken). In the central chief is a red cog-wheel with four spokes and 24 teeth.

Additional information:
The Markian chequered bar (or fess)consists of three connected fesses, each having alternating red and white squares. The top fess is starting with a red square at the dexter side. It was a symbol of the counts of Mark. It is part of many Westphalian flags and/or coats of arms, e.g. Hamm, Altena, Ennepetal, Gummersbach, Iserlohn, Wattenscheid.
