Uckermark Coat of Arms

Shield Or, an enhanced fess engrailed Azure charged with two barrulets engrailed Argent, issuant from base an embattled wall Gules masoned Sable, charged with two inescutcheons Argent, at dexter in bend displaying an eagle Gules, at sinister in bend sinister displaying a griffin Gules, on top of the wall a Gothic stepped gable Gules masoned Sable with port and windows Argent.
Meaning:
The city wall and church represent the impressive churches in Prenzlau and Angermünde, as well as the formerly many monasteries in the district. The area was a border area and many forts were established in the area in the Middle Ages. The inescutcheons on the wall show the eagle of Brandenburg and the griffin of Pomerania, as the area historically belonged to these two States. The wavy bars represent the Oder, Randow and Ucker rivers in the county.
