Shield Or a patriarchal cross issuant Sable, chief Azure charged with a sword Or in fess.
Meaning:
The cross was taken from the arms of the former namesake municipality. In both entities it was alluding to the monasteries in Lorch and Elchingen. The sword is taken from the arms of the former Tomerdingen municipality. There it had been a local market symbol since 1774. Nowadays it is also referring to the local garrison of the German army.
