The Burgenlandkreis is a county in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Its capital is Naumburg city. The county was established by merging the former counties of Burgenlandkreis and Weißenfels as part of the administrative reform of 1 July 2007.
New Flag and CoA adopted on 18 December 2007 by county parliament (Kreistag).
On 10 January 2008 the new symbols of the Burgenlandkreis have been officially
presented. The parliament decided to amend the statute (Hauptsatzung),
now the statute describes the new symbols in paragraphs § 2
"Wappen, Flagge und Dienstsiegel" .
