Shield parted per pale and by a fess wavy parted per pale of Argent and Gules, at dexter Azure, in chief an oak twig Argent with one leaf and two acorns, in base a cogwheel Argent, at sinister Or, in chief hammer and mallet Gules, in base parted by a centred cross Gules.
Meaning:
The tinctures are those of the Counts of Nassau-Saarbrücken (blue and white) and the Dukes of Lothringen (red and yellow). The municipality was ruled by both in the past. The fess wavy is representing Schwalbach proper and is representing the name giving creek. The oak twig is taken from the former arms of Hülzweiler and is alluding to the fact that the settlement had been established by forest clearance. Hammer and mallet are taken from the former arms of Elm and are also alluding to mining in Schwalbach proper. The millwheel is also taken from the former arms of Elm, where watermills had been an important business line. The cross is alluding to the abbeys of Wadgassen und Fraulautern.
