Möhnesee is an agglomeration of former municipalities around Möhne reservoir. The biggest of those had been Körbecke and Stockum.
Description of current flag:
The flag's ratio is 3:5. It is a blue over white horizontal bicolour. The coat of arms is in the centre of the flag.

It is a blue - white vertical bicolour. The coat of arms is shifted to the top.

Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per fess by a wavy line. Above is a black cross dividing a silver(=white) field, below a silver(=white) eagle armed golden(=yellow) in a blue field.
Meaning:
According to source the eagle is armed silver, according to golden. Below are the arms of the counts of Arnsberg, above those of their heirs, the archbishops of Köln. The wavy line is symbolizing Möhne reservoir, which gave the municipality its name.
