Süderbrarup Municipal Coat of Arms

Shield Azure, a Triskelion Or in two concentric annulets of the same, connected by four nose-pieces.
Meaning:
Süderbrarup is a very old parish and was mentioned in the "Earth Book" of the Danish King Waldemar II in 1231. Today it is well known by its market. The Triskelion was found by peat depletion in the Thorsberger Moor, a local marsh. Since the 1840ies more than 2500 ancient objects, used between 100 BC and 100 AD, were discovered in that marsh. The triskelion probably had been a part of a belt fastener. The Triskelion within the fastener is probably a sunwheel, dedicated to the Germanic Goddess Sunna.
