Shield parted per pale, at dexter Argent a sinister facing bear rampant Sable armed and tongued Gules, at sinister Gules a gonfanon Argent with three annulets of the same at its top.
Meaning:
Local stamps displayed a naturalistic view of the castle in Amtzell. In the current arms the bear is the heraldic animal of St. Gallen Abbey. The abbey owned large estates in the area in the past. The gonfanon is taken from the arms of the Counts of Montfort, who had historical relationships to the municipality.

The banner was approved on 5 January 1972 by Minister of Interior of Baden-Württemberg, published in GABl 576/1972. The arms were approved on 4 May 1939 by the governor in Württemberg.
