Shield Or an eagle Sable holding a linden leaf vert by his beak.
Meaning:
The municipality was established on 1 January 1972 by a merger of Christazhofen, Eglofs, Eisenharz, Göttlishofen, Ratzenried and Siggen. Eglofs had proper citizens' seals with prints since 1474. The citizens of the County of Eglofs had been a community of free people and King Rudolf of Habsburg granted city rights according to the pattern of Lindau in 1282. For this reason the Imperial Eagle holds a linden leaf, as the arms of Lindau displayed a linden tree. The current arms are a historic link to the self-governing bodies of Eglofs and is considered to be their successor. The other five municipalities had arms not before the 20th century.
