Cursdorf Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess, at dexter Or a fir Vert, at sinister Azure a lion rampant Or, base Argent charged with a fork Gules in fess over a comb Gules in fess.
Meaning:
The fir is symbolising the Thüringer Wald, the forest in which the municipality is located. The tree was already used on the seal of the village around 1900. The lion is taken from the family arms of the Counts of Schwarzburg. Fork and comb are taken from the family arms of the Princes of Schwarzburg-Rudolfstadt.

Katzhütte Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter Gules, at sinister parted per fess of Argent and Azure, over all a bendlet sinister of eleven alternating pieces of Argent and Azure, base Or charged with a fork Sable in fess over a comb Sable in fess.
Meaning:
The arms display the family arms of the Counts of Schaumberg, who played an important role in local history. The bend sinister is symbolising a railway line, important for the development of the local economy. Fork and comb are taken from the arms of the Princes of Schwarzburg-Rudolfstadt, who ruled the village until 1920.

Meura Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale; at dexter parted per fess, above Vert a mountain tobacco blossom Or, beneath parted per fess dancetty of Or and Vert; at sinister Or a demi linden Vert couped per pale.
Meaning:
The mountain tobacco (Latin: Arnica montana) is symbolising the former importance of gathering and cultivating medicinal plants and the production of essential oils. The flower was already used on the early 20th century seal of the village. The fess dancetty is symbolising the local mountains and at the same time the points form the initial of the municipality. The sinister half shows the local linden tree, a typical landmark in the village.

Lichtenhain/Bergbahn Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess; above Azure a demi-lion issuant Or, armed and tongued Gules; beneath parted per pale, at dexter Or a flaming heart Gules, at sinister Gules a mountain tobacco blossom Or.
Meaning:
The lion is a differentiation of the family arms of the Counts of Schwarzburg, who ruled the area until 1918. The flaming heart is taken from the seal of the village from 1859, but the use is probably older. The heart was a religious symbol, but is now described as a symbol for the love of the inhabitants for their region. The mountain tobacco (Latin: Arnica montana) is symbolising the former practice of collecting and cultivating medicinal plants in the region.

Shield Gules, two birds respectant Argent on an abased fess raguly of the same, chief Or charged with a bar wavy Azure.
Meaning:
The chief is canting, as the blue bar wavy is symbolising a creek (German: Bach), which is part of the names of both villages. The birds on the fess raguly are taken from the local seal of the former Mellenbach Municipality from the early 20th century. Their meaning is unknown.

Meuselbach-Schwarzmühle Coat of Arms

Shield Azure, parted by a bend sinister lozengy Argent, in dexter chief a demi lion issuant Or, armed and tongued Argent, in sinister base a mountain tobacco blossom Or and a watermill wheel Or in bend sinister.
Meaning:
The lion is taken from the arms of the Counts of Schwarzburg, who ruled the area for many centuries. The mountain tobacco (Latin: Arnica montana) is symbolising the former importance of gathering and cultivating medicinal plants and the production of essential oils. The wheel is symbolising the water mills alongside the Schwarza River and is canting for the village of Schwarzmühle (= mill at the Schwarza) in the municipality. The bend is symbolising that the two villages in the municipality are located on different levels with a 400 m height difference between them. The decoration on the bend symbolises the Schiefergebirge, a local mountain ridge, in which the municipality is situated and is also symbolising the slate tiles, being the raw material for walls and roofs of the local houses.

Oberweißbach Coat of Arms

Shield Gules, a woman issuant from base with fair hair, her eyes covered by a blindfold Argent, also dressed Argent, holding a sword of the same by her right hand and a pair of scales of the same by her left hand.
Meaning:
The arms display Iustitia, the Goddess of Justice, taken from the old town seal. In 1945 a seal for the town was introduced, showing a tower and a pine tree on a mountain, which had been transformed to local arms in 1977.

Meaning:
The main field displays a modern version of the family arms of the Counts of Schwarzburg. The name giving castle in the village was also the ancestral seat of the kin. Fork and comb are taken from the family arms of the Princes of Schwarzburg-Rudolfstadt.
