Shield Azure a winged lion´s head caboshed Or.
Meaning:
The winged head is the heraldic animal of the Eglofsheimer kin, whose name is derived from that one of the village. The kin had been in service of the Bishopric of Regensburg since the middle of the 12th century until the end of the 14th century. The pattern was first displayed on a charter from 1321, based on the personal seals of Sighard of Eglofsheim and Eglolf of Eglofsheim. The current name of the municipality is in use since 1314.
