Shield Or a heraldic rode Gules seeded and barbed Argent, mantled, at dexter quartered of Argent and Azure, at sinister Gules a crozier issuant Argent in pale.
Meaning:
The crozier and the quartered shield refer to the two former rulers in the county, the Bishops of Eichstätt and the Margraves of Brandenburg-Ansbach, from the Hohenzollern dynasty. The rose in the base of the shield symbolises the Free City of Roth, where people could apply for imperial asylum during several centuries.

The banner was approved 13 September 1984 by and the arms were approved on 14 January 1975, both by district governor (Regierungspräsident) of Mittelfranken.
