Shield parted per pale; at dexter parted per fess, above Gules a calvary Argent, beneath Vert two chisels in saltire and a stone mason's hammer in pale all Argent; at sinister Argent a beech twig Vert with five leaves ordered 1:2:2.
Meaning:
The calvary, three Latin crosses on the peaks of a triplemount is referring to the Kreuzberg (= cross mountain), a famous landmark in the Rhön Mountains. The same charge appears on the county arms but with a green background. The tools are referring to stone masonry. The leaves are representing the five settlement cores Sandberg proper, Langenleiten, Schmalwasser, Waldberg and Kilianshof.
