It is a vertical 5-stripes banner with alternating green and white stripes with ratio of stripes approx. 2:3:2:3:2. The coat of arms is shifted to the top within the central stripe.

Shield parted per fess embattled; above parted fir-tree topped thrice of Argent and Vert; beneath Argent, issuant from base a triplemount Vert, charged with hammer and mallet Or.
Meaning:
The firs are symbolising the forestal riches of the municipality. The six embattlements are representing the villages belonging to Nentershausen and Tannenberg Castle. Hammer and mallet are symbolising the slate mining until the middle of the 20th century.
The arms were approved on 4 November 1981 by Minister of Interior of Hesse.
