Bad Birnbach Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, above Gules an attire Or in fess, beneath Argent a branch of rose Gules.
Meaning:
The attire is taken from the arms of the Counts of Tattenbach and representing the namesake ancestral seat of the kin and Untertattenbach Municipality, which was incorporated in 1971. The attire (German: Hirschstange) is also representing Hirschbach, which was incorporated in 1972, and related to Hirschbach a canting element. The branch is taken from the Schmid kin, owner of the local district (Bavarian: Hofmark) between 1672 and 1813. Kaspar of Schmid, chancellor of the Bavarian electors in the late 17th century, was the progenitor of that kin. He earned merits by the advancement of the local economy, the establishment of a brewery and an annual fair. Furthermore he built a chapel in Rococo style. The tinctures red and white are referring to the Brombach district. They appear in the arms of several owners of that Hofmark. Due to its increasing importance as a hot springs resort since 1976 Birnbach gained the status of a market town in 1984, the title of a spa in 1987 and the prefix "Bad" (= spa) in 1989.
