Meaning:
On 1 January 1975 the municipalities of Engelsbrand, Grunbach and Salmbach merged. The arms are combining elements of the former municipalities. The bendlet wavy is representing former Grunbach and Salmbach municipalities. Due to its blue colour it is canting, referring to the suffix "-bach" (= creek). The holly is taken from the former arms of Grunbach and representing the flora of the Northern Black Forest. The burning branch is canting for Engelsbrand. "Brand" is a possible German translation of "fire". It is taken from the former municipality of Engelsbrand and alluding to fire clearance in the Middle Ages.
