It is a vertically divided red and white bicolour. The coat of arms is slightly shifted to the top.

Shield Argent; an embattled gate Gules masoned Sable with port and windows Argent, a central tower with cone roof, topped by a ball Or, flanked by two embattled towers, topped by two wyverns couchant addorsed Sable, armed Or and tongued Gules.
Meaning:
Wittenburg was ruled by the Counts of Ratzeburg since 1142 and by the Counts of Schwerin since 1201. The latter granted city rights in 1231. The arms are based on a city seal, known from prints since 1298. The gate is symbolising a fortified city, the wyverns are referring to the Counts of Schwerin. The wyverns had been brown until 1997.

The arms were granted on 10 April 1858 by Grand Duke Friedrich Franz II of Mecklenburg-Schwerin and published in the Municipal Roll of Arms Mecklenburg-Vorpommern as no.127. A flag was never approved officially.

It is a yellow-red horizontal bicolour with centred arms.

Shield Or mantled Gules, at dexter charged with grain sheaf Or and at sinister with a horse bin Or, in central base a belfry Gules, topped by a Latin crosslet Sable.
Meaning:
The partition of the shield is symbolising the three settlements. The belfry is a representation of the local church tower of Körchow proper, the sheaf is representing Zühr and the horse Perdöhl, where equestrian sport plays a role.

The flag approved on 22 November 2000 and the arms were approved on 9 June 1999 by Minister of Interior of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Both were published in the Municipal Roll of Arms Mecklenburg-Vorpommern as no.191 and abolished on 25 May 2014.
