Shield parted by a bend sinister wavy Argent, in dexter chief a fleur-de-lis Or, in sinister base a watermill's wheel Or.
Meaning:
Vöhringen gained city rights in 1977 and consists of four parts, which had been independent municipalities before. Those are Vöhringen proper, Illerberg, Illerzell and Thal. The whole area was part of the Lordship of Wullenstetten, which was owned by the Princes of Fugger since 1507. The fleur-de-lis is taken from their family arms. The bend wavy is representing the Iller River and the former municipalities of Illerberg and Illerzell as well. The millwheel is symbolising the industrialisation in the 19th century and the numerous watermills alongside the river.
