Shield parted per fess, above Azure three 6-point stars Or ordered 2:1, beneath parted per fess of Argent and Gules a lion rampant in counterchanged tinctures.
Meaning:
The lion in counterchanged tinctures is taken from the family arms of the Lords of Stör, whose castle had been name giver of the municipality. The family established a lordship around the castle and sold it to the Wittelsbach kin in the 13th century. The stars are referring to the Princes of Lobkowitz. Störnstein was ceded to Emperor Karl IV in 1353, later pawned and in 1575 handed over to the princes as a hereditary property. The princes gained the status of imperial immediacy in 1641 and the lordship was upgraded to a princely county (German: gefürstete Grafschaft).
