Description of coat of arms:
In a green shield is a golden (=yellow) horseshoe surrounding an upright crozier of the same colour.
Meaning:
The horseshoe is symbolizing craftsmen and farming. The (shortened) crozier is symbolizing, that the village for more than 400 years belonged to the Cistercian monastery having the same name.

Flag and coat of arms were approved by minister of interior of Mecklenburg-Westpomerania on 3 July 2003, published in the roll of arms of Mecklenburg-Westpomerania as no. 0279.
