Shield quartered, 1st quarter Gules a grain ear Or, 2nd quarter Or a hammer Sable in bend sinister and an anvil of the same, 3rd quarter Azure a fleur-de-lis Or, 4th quarter Argent a heraldic rose Gules seeded and barbed Argent.
Meaning:
The village was first mentioned in 1363. Since 1780 the Counts of Einsiedel established the hammermill of Lauchhamer. A smelter and a furnace were added between 1815 and 1827. In 1883 a pulp mill was established. The 1st and 2nd quarter of the arms are symbolising agriculture and steel works as important business lines. The fleur-de-lis is taken from the arms of the Lords of Köckritz, the rose from those of the Lords of Schleinitz. Both had been local manorial lords in the past.

The banner in Saxonian colours was approved in 1993. The arms were confirmed by the city council in 1982.
