Shield Sable, a sinister facing griffin reguardant Or, holding a 5-spokes wheel Argent.
Meaning:
The pattern of the arms was in use on local seals since the 19th century. The wheel is alluding to the Barons of Berlichingen. Götz von Berlichingen bought Hornberg Castle, located above the village, in 1517 and died there in 1562. The origin of the griffin is not known. It might be a modification of the supporters in the arms of Baden. The municipality adopted the arms on 14 January 1957, the arms had however never been approved.
