Shield Gules an axe and a glass blowing pipe with glass balloon, both Argent, in saltire, on central chief point a fleur-de-lis Or, on central base point an oak leaf of the same.
Meaning:
Rechtenbach was first mentioned in 1559. Glass blowing brought an economic boost in the 17th century, when French glassblowers adopted the local glass kilns. This is symbolised by the pipe and the fleur-d-lis of the French Kings. After the kiln had finished business in 1791, the local people worked as lumbermen and later as cutters of railroad ties. This is symbolised by the axe. The leaf is referring to the location in the Spessart, a forest and to the importance of timber industry. The tinctures red and silver are those of the Archbishopric of Mainz, which ruled the village until 1803.
