Shield parted per fess; above Azure, three attires Or in fess ordered per pale; beneath Argent, a lion's head Gules.
Meaning:
The first municipal seal was obtained in the 1830ies, displaying grain ears, grapevines, oak branches and an inscription "BÜRGERMEISTERAMT GAILINGEN". A suggestion of the Genral State Archive from 1901, more or less like the current pattern, was however rejected by the municipality, which adopted the family arms of the Franconian Gailingen family instead, parted per fess of Argent over Sable. This family had nothing to do with the municipality. Thus the current pattern was adopted in 1939. The lion's head is taken from the arms of the Lords of Randegg, who owned the low level cognisance before 1518. The attires are alluding to the high level cognisance, executed by the Landgraves of Nellenburg.
