Description of current flag:
The flag's ratio is 3:5. It is a red over white horizontal bicolour. According to Veddeler 2003, p.159 red and silver had been the colours of former bishopric of Minden.

The flag was approved by Regierungspräsident Detmold on 16 February 1972.
