Shield sable, in base a triplemount Vert, issuant from base a demi-lion double queued rampant Or, armed and tongued Gules, holding a crozier Or in pale by his forepaws.
Meaning:
Local seals since the 17th century displayed a mule, issuant from base and holding a crozier. This image is referring to Maulbronn Monastery, which ruled the village since 1147. In 1577 the rule was overtaken by Württemberg. When the current arms were adopted by the municipality in 1900, the mule was replaced by a Palatine lion. The choice was caused by an error, presuming the village had been ruled by the Palatine Counts. Furthermore the 19th century seal displayed an indistinct kind of animal, which had been misinterpreted as a lion. In fact the village was ruled by the Bishopric of Speyer until 1802.
