Description of coat of arms:
Shield Gules; issuant from base a mount Argent, charged with an embattled wall Gules masoned Sable consisting of ten bricks ordered 3:4:3 and topped by a column Argent, topped with a coronet Or and flanked by two sickles Argent hilted Or.
Meaning:
Column and sickles are taken from the seal of the Sichelnstein Amt or the Higher Court District of Münden. They had been also the crest of the helmets of the Dukes of Braunschweig-Lüneburg. The mount is the name giver of the municipality: Großer Staufenberg. The bricks of the embattled wall are representing the ten former independent municipalities forming Staufenberg.
