Aletshausen Coat of Arms

Shield parted by a pale Or; at dexter parted per fess, above Argent a key Gules in bend, beneath Azure three balls Or ordered 2:1; at sinister Gules a bunch of grapes Argent with stem.
Meaning:
The golden pale is taken from the arms of the Margraviate of Burgau, to which the whole current municipality historically belonged. The balls are taken from the arms of the Barons of Freiberg, who had been manorial lords in Aletshausen proper and Haupeltshofen. They also held the right of patronage. The key, an attribute of St. Peter, is alluding to the Collegiate Church of St. Peter in Augsburg, which owned estates in the area since the end of the 14th century and upgraded the local church to a parish. The bunch of grapes is canting and representing the former municipality of Winzer (= winegrower). The tinctures red and silver are those of the Bishopric of Augsburg, which owned estates in the village since 1316.
