Fahrenzhausen Coat of Arms

Shield Azure a pair of scales Argent over an abased fess wavy of the same, mantled Argent, at dexter charged with a negro head Sable crowned Gules with earring Gules, at sinister charged with an axe Gules.
Meaning:
The fess wavy is representing the Amper River. The scales are referring to the fact that Fahrenzhausen had been seat of a court in the Medieval, last mentioned in 1374. The negro head is taken from the arms of the Bishopric of Freising, to which parts of the current municipality historically belonged, e.g. the Massenhausen district (1499 - 1803). The axe already appeared in the municipal arms of Großnöbach, adopted in 1969. The axe had been also part of the arms of some local kins of noblemen, e.g. the Lords of Massenhausen, the Lords of Kammerberg, owners of the namesake district until 1452 and the Füll kin from Windach, who owned that district between 1609 and 1814. The five gemstones of the scale are alluding to the five independent former municipalities Jarzt, Großnöbach, Lauterbach, Kammerberg and Fahrenzhausen (1971 - 1978). The tinctures blue and white are those of the Wittelsbach kin, local ruler and most important local manorial lord.
